When Does Yokahu Launch?
Yokahu and its first policies will be available on an invite-only basis in the next few weeks. We are able to launch in The Bahamas, St Lucia, Jamaica and US Virgin Islands. We will only be able to release 300 policies in 2021 as we await further insurer support and achieve regulatory sign off in more countries.

How Will I Receive My Invitation
On the day of launch, we will email you with your exclusive link that will guide you through the policies available to purchase and our simple sign up process.
If you register your phone number with us, we will also send you a free SMS notification when your email invitation is released, just to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Remember you have 48 hours to choose and purchase a policy before we release your place to the next person on the waiting list.
Can You Remind Me How Your Hurricane Emergency Expenses Work?

When a hurricane happens we monitor live weather data at your location and send you money straight away, in as little as 24 hours! The stronger the storm at your home, the more we send you. You can use this money to rebuild your life and get your family back on track.
Yokahu will pay you based upon two simple things:
- The location you give us when you sign up (your home) must experience hurricane strength winds (74mph+).
- We then pay you based upon the strength of the storm. We categorise hurricanes using 5 Categories:
- Intense
- Very Intense
- High
- Very High
- Extreme
Intense is the lowest category and Extreme is the highest. You will receive payment shown in your policy based upon the classification category of the storm when it affected your insured location. The stronger the storm, the more money we send you.
If you are due a payment, you will receive your money in as little as 24 hours.
